Why does the access path not appear in this column.
Why does the access path not appear in this column.
A project has always the same folder structure. There is a folder for source and a folder for target. If the file is in the target folder, then there is NO specific folder for this file within the project, as the file is in the default folder. So Studio has no reason to show any specific folder. And even if the path is shown in Studio like in the projects view, I do not know a way to copy it.
However, if you open the project settings, then there is a path shown to the project and you can select and copy it.
Either case, this will not really bring you any better solution than a decent file manager would provide. In fact, Studio is neither a real project management tool, nor is it a file manager. In fact this is the same as in Word - you cannot copy the path to the file unless you try to use "Save file as". So if you really urgently need the path to your file, try to use "Save target as" and copy the path from that window.

Just to clarify things, I could copy from Windows file Explorer the access path to the directory containing the.sdlxliff file, than copy the file name at the end of the copied access path, but that is tedious.
I find that it is odd that the full access path, including the file name, appears at the bottom of the file details screen, but not in the file details column.
I'm not sure what you mean by your comment that there is no specific path to the file within the project. I import in fact packages or Word documents in Trados for translation. With either file type, the Location column is empty.
I recently deleted my old Trados 2017 and Trados 2015 from my computer using the Windows program delete function. Could that have messed up my Trados 2019. I just now need to copy the access path for another application, so I'm not sure if this problem always existed with my Trados 2019, or if its just since I deleted the old versions.
Thanks Jerzy, yes the Explore Containing Folder button lets me see the .sdlxliff file in the Windows file Explorer. I did no know that. But I can't seem to copy the full access path to the file from File Explorer, which is what I need so that I can use the .sdlxliff file in another software.
The file access path appears at the bottom of the file details screen, but I can't copy it from there either.
I think this is because there is no specific path to the file within the project, and the path to the project is shown in the Projects view.
No path in the files view means, that you project does not have any subfolders. If you need to go where the file is, use the "Explore Containig Folder" button from the ribbon.
