Perhaps if we could just check the folder structure that you are using-

Where exactly are you saving the files/Studio/projects?

If for instance you create a folder  in the default Studio path (e.g.)

C:\Users\yourname\Documents\Studio 2019\Customer files

Then drop a file into the customer files folder and now try to create a project.

Does the problem persist?

Thanks for that tip. However, it does not help at all. I have one job for tomorrow, but Trados is being very stubborn with this problem today. I've tried 20+ times, but to no avail Considering I've now been working 12 hours nonstop and this would be my last job of the day, I'm not a happy bunny. I have no other alternative but to wake up (too) early in the morning and just hope and pray it starts to work.

I decided to upgrade my 2019 F+ to 2021 F+ today in the hope that the problem would disappear. Just went through the complicated process of finding the activation code and got the software to function, BUT THE PROBLEM IS STILL POPPING UP! Now I'm just as stressed and €168 poorer to boot. I don't know whether or not you work for SDL, but do you know ANYONE who could help?

I there, I have upgraded to 2021 and have the same problem. I noticed it happens most frequently when I have to translate a PPT file. The only way I can solve the problem is by rightclicking on the file, and then use the "Translate in SDL Trados Studio" option. Then it works. Hope this will help.
