Target font issues after upgrading to SDL Trados Studio 2021 SR1 - 16.1.4.4184

Hi,

I recently upgraded my SDL Trados studio 2021 to the latest version ( SR1 - 16.1.4.4184).
Since then, when tags are applied to the target text, it becomes unreadable (characters are separated)
Target Language: Persian

Screenshot of SDL Trados Studio showing English source text and Persian target text with tags applied, resulting in separated characters and unreadable text.

  • Update:
Alternatively, users can add any English character after the opening tag and remove it in the final word document using Find and replace.

  • Hi Paul,

So I've had a look at this problem and it seems that whenever you have a segment that starts with a tag (formatting or other type of tag e.g. footnote, hyperlink etc.) this problem occurs throughout the rest of the sentence where other tags occur as well.

If you place some RTL text in front of the initial tag at the start of the segment then all other text is displayed correctly.

I also noticed that if the segment start with a CF tag displayed then the problem occurs throughout that segment within other tags (following a FN tag or inside a hyperlink tag). However, if you turn off the display CF tags via the View tab, then for any segment which would have started with a CF tag the problem disappears.

    Hope this helps.

    Phil.
