How to exclude words in capital letters from the quickplace items?

Question

Dear Studio2014 users, 
 I am working on a file that contains various acronyms in capital letters that require translation. I would like to exclude them from the picklist in the Quickplace results and wonder if there is a way to do this.

Dear Chun-yi, you can turn off Acronym recognition completely in the TM settings. But this will not only disable the picklist but also any leverage you could expect from your TM. So go to your Project Settings, select your TM Settings and turn it off here. If it doesn't seem as though it worked deactivate the project, activate a different project and then go back into your first project. Sometimes the settings get a little "sticky":

 Maybe you're making the change in the wrong place. It works for me mid-project and otherwise. Make sure, if it's an existing project that you perform the change through the project settings and not just on the TM via TM Maintenance.

Hi Chun-yi, 
 ok - I see your problem. It looks as though you're right and that if TMs are used in the specific language pairs then changing the settings to not recognise Acronyms is completely inneffective. 
 So here's the workaround. 
 
 Remove all the TMs from the project settings 
 Uncheck this box in the specific language pairs: 
 Add your TMs back in the All Language pairs 
 Select the first TM in the list and uncheck the Acronym recognition in the Project Settings 
 
 This works for me and is perfectly safe for your Project since the return package only contains the translated sdlxliff files. You don't send back TMs in the package.
