Termbase not showing any terms

Question

This is a really common issue that has been flagged loads of times, so I'm surprised we are still dealing with it... 
 
 I'm working with Trados Studio 2021 Freelance edition. 
 
 Have a termbase, it's full of terms, I know they're there. 
 
 Deactivating and re-activating the termbase does nothing, shutting Trados down and rebooting it doesn't do anything. The term recognition window says 'no results available' which I know isn't true, and when I add a pair just to make sure, as suspected, it tells me the term is already in the term base. 
 
 Any ideas please?

 Hi Hannah, 
 Have you the latest version of each installed? You can check for update on the Help toolbar on each - you need to open MultiTerm after you have checked Studio to be sure it is also up to date... It is important to have the correct version/build/etc of MultiTerm for the version of Studio you are using. 
 Have you run a Windows Update on either Studio or MultiTerm lately? This helps keep things running smoothly, here's how you do it for MultiTerm and Studio is roughly the same process...

You don't need to use MultiTerm as a standalone unless you want to work directly on a termbase, only to open it now and then to check for updates...

Are you sure you are looking on the Termbase Recognition and NOT Termbase Search window? The Search window will never show recognize any terms.

 Where is the termbase located? Can you share the full path please? 
 Can you share a screenshot of your termbase settings showing the languages used? 
 Can you share a screenshot of the termbase itself showing the languages it was created with? 
 Have you reorganised the termbase? 
 Can you confirm the versions you are using? Should be these: 
 Trados Studio 2021 - 16.2.9.9198 MultiTerm 2021 - 16.2.1.1044
