Noted, But strange menu. If you click it defaults to Cloud without telling.
Test... not applicable. The Trados 2021 xfliff have evolved since... (affected by my Trados 2019 manip? Unclear).
Overall status:
Task OK.
Analysis unclear.
My Trados 2021 has become quirky with SP2.
If there is an upcoming version, I'll jump on it and get rid of this.
The plain-and-simple solution of reusing the TM in another copy of Trados worked OK.
I exported smoothly to srt.

In fact I agree with you. On a personal level I don't like the default here.

Very unclear. I can open an SDLXLIFF from Trados Studio 2009 in 2021.
However, I'm beginning to think the problem is that you have a package or project from an older version of Trados Studio that used the old subrip filetype for the SRT. So I think the message you got in 2021 was that it could not find the appropriate subtitle filetype in the project you tried to open. It looked for what was installed and the project didn't have it.
So your options are either to create the target file in the older version of Trads Studio, or recreate the project in 2021 using the new filetype.
