Error: Invalid access to memory location

Getting a new error from Studio when I do preps.

Error: Invalid access to memory location

Error message in Trados Studio stating 'Failed to add C:Usersusername.pptx to the project. Invalid access to memory location.' with options to click 'Yes' or 'No'.

Several other users are getting same error.

Have already tried the steps to reset Trados Studio basic settings.

Please help.

Based on what you have told us so far... if multiple users are receiving the "Invalid access to memory location" error when trying to access the same file, it suggests a more systemic issue. The problem could be due to one of the following reasons:

    1. Corrupted File: The file itself could be corrupted. This might be due to a software bug, a system crash while the file was being written, or even hardware issues like a faulty hard drive.

    2. Permission Issues: There could be an issue with the file permissions. If the users don't have the correct permissions to access the file, they could get this error.

    3. File Locking: In some cases, a file might be "locked" by one process, preventing other processes from accessing it. If the file is being locked improperly, it could cause this error.

    Some questions:

    • what version of the software are you using?  Be specific... the current version is Trados Studio 2022 - 17.0.6.14902
    • are all users working with the same version?
    • are you sharing files on a network drive?

It seems unlikely to be a Studio specific problem, but perhaps you can comment on this before we look elsewhere?
