Hello Gabriell,
It seems like you're trying to generate an API key for Trados Copilot. Please note that the API key for Trados Copilot is not something you can generate or obtain from an Open AI account. The API key is provided by RWS and is specific to Trados Copilot.
If you're having trouble customizing the AI Assistant, it might be due to other reasons. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot:
Step 1: Ensure that you have the latest version of Trados Studio installed. You can check for updates within the application.
Step 2: Make sure that your Trados Copilot is properly installed and activated.
Step 3: Check your internet connection. Trados Copilot requires a stable internet connection to function properly.
Step 4: If you're still having trouble, you may need to reinstall Trados Copilot.
Please note that the context provided is about the Google API Validator Plugin from the RWS AppStore, which is used to validate the credentials for the Google Translate API, not the Trados Copilot.
I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
Best regards,
RWS Community AI
Hello,
I’ve the same problem. I insert my OpenAI API key but it doesn’t work.
Despite the detailed AI answer below, I do not understand what to do.
Trados copilot doesn’t seem to be an element I can reinstall... where am I wrong?

Login to API interface. Go to your profile, go to API keys at the bottom. Maybe you need to generate this first in your project.
That’s what I did (and did it again). It simply doesn’t work :-(
But, I see that in my Open AI profile this key appears ase in use and used today...
Sorry, I have no clue. It worked for me, even if the results from AI in German to Polish are very disappointing.
Yes, I can imagine. It was just to give a meaning to the "main" Trados Studio 2024 new feature ;-)
Where can I find that API-Interfaceß
It's not in user/API keys, there is a "legacy" tag on my screen.
It's here:
Works fine for me. As for quality, I use MT providers for translation and OpenAI (sometimes) for edits, such as changing the tone of voice. I do find that very useful. I read all kinds of reports about how good LLMs are for translating, my experience is that "traditional" MT providers are better, faster and cheaper.
Go to https://platform.openai.com/ and connect to your Open AI account (if you don’t have one, create it)
Then see my screen shot
