Disable preview?

Question

Hello all, 
 I have a very annoying problem: for some reason I cannot understand, all of a sudden my Trados 2015 starts generating a preview, eventhough the preview window is closed, and I am not aware of using the shortcut for generating the preview. This is very frustrating and takes a lot of time, and slows me down a lot. 
 Does anyone know how to disable the preview function? Or any other solution to this problem?

Hi Annick, 
 
It does sound like a keyboard issue, or maybe a clash with some other software? Try adding a shortcut for the preview to see whether this stops it? Try making sure you have no other software running at all when you work in Studio and see if you can replicate the problem?

If you don't have any keyboard shortcuts in Studio assigned to the Preview then go in and assign some. Use something you won't really press. This might help disable whatever else is triggering it by disassociating it from the preview action. 
 
If you do have a shortcut already then remove it or change it.

Hi Deborah, 
 
ok, please can you close all background applications that are running and then start Studio and see if the problem still occurs. If it doesn't then add in any background applications that start up with your work, or that you have running when you work, one at a time, Repeat the test in Studio and see if you can identify which application is causing the clash with Studio. 
 
If it still happens in Studio despite closing all other applications then let me know.

 I would suggest logging a support ticket for this via your GS account. We can then look at this for you. 
 Also, I would always advise to open a new thread when you come across issues as this thread is so old it may no longer be relevant.
