AutoSuggest not working

Hi

I am not able to make AutoSuggest work properly in my Studio 2015!

At this point I have read articles and help pages, watched tutorials, updated my software and turned the function on and off, restarted application and all the usual stuff - and it simply will not work.

Finally I created a termbase, and that works very well. However, it takes time to insert the terms, and not knowing how many instances of the different terms I will encounter in each text, this is not an ideal solution.

If anyone have a suggestion or a solution that will make AutoSuggest work with my TM's I will be very happy! :)

  • Hi Nora,

I don't have one unfortunately. It indeed was not working when we looked so I tried it with a fresh project and it worked. Then when Heidi went back to her original project it was working there too!!

Go figure!!  It might have been a refresh issue as Studio is notorious for not picking up settings unless you refresh the project, but I don't really know.

  • Hi Paul,

We just managed to solve it as well. The situation here was that I'd sent him a package that included a termbase. When he opened the package he got the termbase-related massive catastrophic failure error, which he dismissed, but the termbase still appeared as active in the project, even though it wasn't working at all. This seemed to affect all AutoSuggest providers. We removed the termbase, restarted Studio and AutoSuggest is now working fine. Now the problem is that any attempt to add a termbase leads to the catastrophic failure error.

    Best,

    Nora
  • Oh dear... have you managed to resolve that one? I think the usual solutions are to make sure Stuydio and MultiTerm have the same, latest versions, and also ensure that windows has its latest updates. I think W7 SP1 was the fix for many of these.

  • For now, the Term Excelerator saved the day. We'll have to troubleshoot that one later this week, though.
