Dear Community,
Later this week, we will be releasing the 17.10 update for SDL Managed Translation. Below is a summary of the new features planned for this release, including some ideas raised by members of the SDL Managed Translation Community.
- Online Editor: Reviewers will now be able to edit target segments directly when reviewing a document. In support of this feature, we've extended the online review functionality to provide the following options: -
- Copy source to target segment
- Apply formatting
- Go to segment
- Segment locking/unlocking
- Additional filter options
- Project Download: Users will be able to specify exactly which languages and files they need when downloading the translated files from a project
- Extended Access to Source/Reference Files
- Reviewers will now be able to download the source file and reference material associated with a project
- Users can download source and reference files at any step in the project workflow, rather wait for the project to be ready for download
- Cancel a Project: Users will be able to cancel a project at any step up until the point they approve a project
As with all Managed Translation releases, these new features will be available to users automatically. However, for customers working with the Online Review feature in Managed Translation, reviewers will not notice any immediate change in functionality following this update. If the editing feature is of interest to customers, please get in touch with your regular contact at SDL or send me a message via the Community.
The 17.10 release is planned for Tuesday, 10th October, at 2pm GMT. I'll post a further update via the Community once Managed Translation 17.10 is live.
