Available file formats during job creation (tooltip)

Is it possible (or could you add such functionality in the future) to hide some of the file extensions that are seen during job creation?

At the moment then you hover your mouse over the '?', the tooltip is showing all file formats that are added to configuration. However, in some cases, not all file types that are added to the configuration can be used as source file and might be some kind of additional deliverables (for example .pkg, .pdf or xlsx files). It is confusing to the client - it happens quite often that he thinks that he can create a job with all file formats that are shown here, but that's not the case.

I think that having some kind of additional visibility settings in - for example - 'Language Cloud' section in Settings in TMS would be really helpful.

  • Hi Alina,

As you mention, the list of supported file formats is pulled directly from the selected project option. This also controls which file(s) a user is able to mark as translatable and which can only be submitted as reference material.

We could potentially introduce a new language cloud setting to 'hide file formats tooltip' at the project option level. This wouldn't prevent users from actually submitting those formats for translation but it might help avoid confusing users that have previously been instructed not to upload certain file types.

If you think this would help with your requirement, can you please raise a new idea for this in the "Ideas" section on the Community site?

    Cheers,
