Symptoms:
Any of the following could have a negative impact on the performance of the Apply TM workflow step in SDL TMS:
- Files containing a large number of segments with short strings that contain numbers and acronyms (CRQ-4820)
- Files containing a large number of segments when AutoMatch is enabled (CRQ-4791)
- Files containing a large number of segments when Studio-style scoring is enabled (CRQ-4913)
Explanation:
This is a long-standing issue with the performance of translation memories in SDL TMS but has only come to light recently when the profile of the content being submitted for translation has changed.
Resolution:
The issue was fixed by implementing improvements to the algorithms and the caching for translation memories.
SDL-hosted customers should contact SDL Support to arrange for this hotfix to be deployed.
