SDL TMS 11.3 | SDL TMS 11.3 Release Announcement (April 2017)

We are pleased to announce the general availability of SDL TMS 11.3. This is the next major update on the SDL TMS 11.x branch and delivers some important updates, new features and defect fixes. See below for some highlights.

SDL Trados Studio Commute

SDL TMS 11.3 has a new plug-in available for both SDL Trados Studio 2017 and SDL Trados Studio 2015. The plug-in allows translators and reviewers to access their SDL TMS inbox from within SDL Trados Studio, removing the requirement to download and upload files using a web browser. The new plug-in has the following features:

  • Support for adding multiple servers
  • Download, edit, upload and submit tasks directly from within SDL Trados Studio
  • Take ownership, reassign or reject tasks
  • Grouping by job and sorting on any field

SDL TMS Inbox Advanced Technical Preview

SDL TMS 11.3 ships with a new inbox that will be enabled for all users by default. Users can revert to the old representation of the inbox from the User Preferences tab on My Details. The new inbox uses a grid control that offers the following functionality:

  • Grouping by one or more columns in the inbox by dragging the columns to the grouping area
  • Searching and sorting on all columns
  • Intelligent column filtering based on data type
  • Selecting numbers such as word counts to get the sum, average and min/max values

Updated TAUS DQF integration

SDL TMS 11.1 released in August 2016 introduced support for the TAUS Dynamic Quality Framework. At that time, SDL TMS was supporting V1 of the TAUS DQF API. In January this year, TAUS deprecated V1 of their API in favour of V3. SDL TMS 11.3 provides support for the new version of the API allowing users to track productivity and quality of translations.
