SDL TMS 2011 SP6 | Plugin frequency reduced to 24h for the GroupShare Timed Executor

Symptoms:
SDL Studio GroupShare servers, when used in the context of the integration between SDL TMS with SDL Studio GroupShare, experience some performance issues because of SDL TMS polling information at a high frequency.

Explanation:
In SDL TMS 2011 SP6, the frequency at which SDL TMS requested the Status, File Status and Progress data from the GroupShare server was set to 2 minutes. As multiple SDL TMS servers may integrate with the same SDL Studio GroupShare server, the 2 minutes frequency set for each SDL TMS server was causing unnecessary pressure on the SDL Studio GroupShare server, thus reducing its overall performance.

Resolution:
The frequency has now been reduced so that the SDL TMS server requests this information from SDL Studio GroupShare only once per day. The GroupShareTimedExecutor run by the Archiver service has a frequency set to 24 hours.

SDL-hosted customers should contact SDL Support to arrange for a hotfix to be deployed.

Customers who host TMS themselves should download the installer for SDLTMS2011SP6 Hotfix for TMS-3072.exe from the following FTP site: ftp://sdlpatches:5dlpatch35@ftp-emea.sdlproducts.com/SDL TMS/2011 SP6/Hotfix.
