Can we create new versions of topics in bulk?

Our editors would like to be able to create new versions for each topic that will be updated for the next release, and then assign those new versions to the various authors. It takes a lot of time to create new versions one by one but we are not seeing an option to multi-select and create new versions in either Content Manager or Publication Manager. Alas, I can't find an answer in the online help, which makes me suspect that it can't be done. But can it? Thanks!

Your observation is correct. There is no direct ability to create a "New Version" on multiple objects at the same time. This may relate to the fact that a user normally has to set certain metadata (or workflow).

But maybe the following workaround may help you:
    - open the publication and go to the baseline view
    - select the topics that you want to create a new version for
    - right-click and select check-out
    - a dialog pops-up telling you the object is released and asks if you want to create a new version
    - select the "new version" and make sure to select "Apply to All"
    - then the properties dialog for the first object pops up; just click OK to accept the default values
    - repeat this for all objects
    - when done, all new versions have been created
    - select these objects again in the baseline and undo checkout
    - you can select them again to change the reviewer etc in batch

    Best regards,
