shortcut to select working language while editing?

Question

I work with translations in a wide range of languages. I frequently use Publication Manager to find a specific topic in a publication, then I need to check out and edit the topic in several different languages in succession. I'm looking for a shortcut to change/select the language that I need to work in for a given topic. 
 We're running SDL Knowledge Center with Publication Manager v.12.0.4 + plugin to XMetal Enterprise 11.0. 
 Current method in SDL Knowledge Center: Tools > Options > SDL Knowledge Center > Accounts > Settings > Default Language: [select] 
 Save me some clicks, please!

Bill is right - but check out from your authoring bridge (we use XMetaL), rather than Publication Manager. In the bridge, you can search for the topic in all languages, and select them all at the same time to check out and work on together. You just have to set the languages and versions you are looking for to make the search results easier to navigate.
