How do you 'force' a re-synchronization of the Browse Repository to your local storage?

How do you 'force' a re-synchronization of the Browse Repository to your local storage? I am using XMetal and the SDL authoring bridge connector to the SDL CMS. I thought that holding the CTRL key while selecting SDL Tridion Docs > Browse Repository would force a re-synchronization, but that doesn't seem to always work.

Is this the correct way to force a re-synchronization?

Can you share it more in I expected to see this, but I got that? Your request is an attempt to solve it, just missing what you are trying to solve :)

Please also share your WebApp-server-version and your ClientTools-version?
