Hi All,
I am trying to add a new custom Metadata List field for Maps in SDL Tridion Docs.
In order to achieve this I have updated FieldSetup.xml in (E:\InfoShare\App\Database\Migration\DatabaseIndependent\Custom.Setup) location and also MetadataConfig.xml file in clientConfig directory.
But, when we try to update the properties I get ( The FieldValue "FCUSTOMMETADATA" cannot be returned, because it is not initialized.)

One more thing beyond restarting the services: Adding a new field or significantly modifying an existing field typically requires reindexing the database.
In x:\InfoShare\App\Crawler\Configuration, run
Run them all as admin using the installer account. It's not technically required for each batch file, but it's an easier instruction to give than the specific times you can use any admin account vs. the ones where you must use the installer account.
I do the crawler re-registration because I'm frequently swapping out databases; it may not be necessary for your situation. Our DB is small enough and the server is powerful enough that the extra time is just seconds.
