Hi all. What controls the date display formats in Content Manager?
Our customer wants the US m/d/yy format everywhere - Content Manager and client apps - but this question is specifically about Content Manager.
For example, the Date Created column on our customer's (American) server viewed from my Windows 10 computer:
dd/mm/yyyy is a really bad display option (as is mm/dd/yyyy, or anything other than yyyy-mm-dd) because you can't determine what 03/04/2005 represents.
In the Properties dialog it uses the can't-be-reliably-interpreted format of d/mm/yy (possibly dd/mm/yy?) followed by a comma then time without seconds:
This is an even worse format; what does 03/04/05 mean? If driven by user settings, it's even worse, as one user might have m/d/yy, another d/m/yy, and yet another yy/dd/mm - all screen caps are all wrong for all people.
My date/time display settings are the morally superior yyyy-MM-dd and HH:mm: (Region: Canada)
Content Manager on the actual (American) server is the same as my computer:
Same bad format in the Properties dialog:
I've customized its date/time display settings on my profile: (Region: United States) But those obviously aren't the defaults on an American machine.
Content Manager on Sara P's pre-sales VM is what I want (not what the customer wants :-)
Same indistinguishable format in the Properties dialog though:
Again, I've customized its date/time display settings to be the same as my computer: (Region: United States)
