I'm not familiar with coding approaches. But an out of the box, no coding method is to checkout the DITA Map in oXygen or XMetaL Author, and use Find/Replace within those applications (at the map level). If any topic is Released, you'll be prompted to create a new version.

Note that the new Tridion Docs Draft Space includes a Find/Replace within a Publication.

The easiest approach would be to export the publication topics through search or Translation (in Web UI) , do a find and replace using PowerGREP or open them in Notepad++ and do a find and replace. Followed by importing them back in using content importer.

Great suggestion Akheil. Milly, make sure no users are editing content within the Publication, as the import creates a new Revision.

Not the first I heard of this, I think all ISHRemote tools are there to do what you want, except one... You requested to select the content objects to find/replace on per publication. For reference, I copied something from my internal backlog to the public github one, see Add cmdlet Get-IshPublicationOutputContent to return directly linked content objects of this publication · Issue #126 · sdl/ISHRemote. To be clear, it is not implemented yet, but perhaps in the future somebody else might hit this thread and find it useful. The github issue describes which API call I would consider.

So the things that are there, pseudo flow,

1. Find-IshDocumentObj or any other way to get to content objects, iterate through folder, see Repository Corrections (requires ISHRemote v0.13 coming soon :-))
2. Get-IshDocumentObjData to download to an xml file
3. ... do your fail-proof find/replace conversion :-)
4. Set-IshDocumentObj using the -FilePath parameter (I think you can parse the mandatory parameters from the generated filename even)
