If you don't already have the field added to publication search in SDL Web client, I would add it, run the search and export the report.

Tridion Docs 14 added new search for Publications features in the Publication Manager. 

1) From the Edit menu select Search...

2) Change the Look in: field to Entire Repository for publications

3) In the Output format field, add the output type(s) you wish to find.

4) When you click Search, you'll see a list of Publications with those output type(s).

You can search for other Publication metadata fields as well.

I am not looking for an Output type, but a Publication type which is not listed in the Search fields.

It is a LOV linked to the metadata field FISHPUBLICATIONTYPE.

Is there a way to add this to the search fields?

Here are the steps to add it to the Publication search screen:

1) Locate MetadataConfig.xml. (usually on app server under X:\Infoshare\Web\Author\ASP\ClientConfig\MetadataConfig.xml)

2) Make a backup of the file just in case.

3) add the following lines under <ishfrm id="Trisoft.InfoShare.Forms.Searcher.SearchPublicationControl">

<ishfrmfield name="PublicationTypeField" ishfieldref="FISHPUBLICATIONTYPE" level="logical">
<label resourceref="FISHPUBLICATIONTYPE.Label">&amp;Publication type</label>
<description resourceref="FISHPUBLICATIONTYPE.Description">Indicates the content type of the publication.</description>
<typepulldown>
<valuelist>
<lovlist ishlovref="DPUBLICATIONTYPE" activityfilter="active"/>
</valuelist>
</typepulldown>
</ishfrmfield>

4) Validate against MetadataConfig.xsd.

5) If valid, save and restart publication manager, you will see a prompt about changes to metadataconfig.xml.

6) Select search tab, expand advanced search and you should see the dropdown for publication type.
