Hello everyone,
I am facing a challenge with Trados Studio 2021 regarding the alignment of documents. I have a source document in Italian that has been updated with new content compared to the previous English translation. Due to the complex formatting of the original PDF document, Trados struggled to create an effective alignment between the two texts. Eventually I had to do the translation with MS Word, because I was unable to align the two texts, also because the document is very long.
Despite the unsuccessful alignment, I noticed that Trados generated statistics indicating that a certain percentage of segments were matching, and I have the impression that the statistics look right. This leads me to wonder:
Is it possible for Trados to accurately calculate statistics on matching segments even if the visual alignment fails? How does Trados determine segment matches in such cases?
I would appreciate any insights or experiences you may have regarding this issue.
Thank you!
Alex
