Subject Matter Experts authoring in large collections of content need a familiar environment rather than seeing one little snippet at a time. The Fonto structured editing platform preserves the illusion of a “book”, with a Word-style scrolling editor that keeps the whole context in view. Since Fonto (and SDL Tridion Draft Space) runs in the browser, CPU & memory are limited. Therefore to preserve smooth scrolling, find & replace easily, and load content with lightning speed, we used a lazy loading approach and some other neat tricks. This sessions covers these techniques and the lessons learned.
