Add configurability to enable if "automatically confirm unconfirmed segments" check box shows in Online Editor

From a quality and admin perspective we want to be able to control if this checkbox is shown to individuals working in the Online Editor. Typically, we do not want this shown as there have been quality issues in the past where a linguist forgets to go back and change an unconfirmed segment in a project before completing the project. If the segment is auto confirmed, this bad translation is now in the TM. There are also other reason why a segment may be left unconfirmed, but adding this check box creates the risk that the TM will become polluted.

  • Hi Russell,

It would definitely be helpful to get some control over this functionality. I'm curious - I was doing some testing and noticed that auto-confirmed segments did not get saved into the TM. Did you see different behaviour on your end? Thanks.

  • I did not test that. That is a different issue I'd think if the segments that are auto confirmed are of a status that should be added to the TM and then are not after a TM update workflow step. I would be concerned if they did not make it to the TM as it would mean it is not working as it should in TE. I will need to test.

  • I was trying to inquire on the Release Notes page as to what the intended behaviour is. I would have expected it to save into the TM since the segments I confirmed manually were saved to the TM, just not the auto-confirmed ones. Let me know if you get a chance to confirm this.
