64-bit version of Studio

Please create a 64-bit version of Studio. At present only a 32-bit version is available, and therefore it can theoretically only access 2-3GB of system memory, meaning that upgrading your machine with more memory then this does not have any beneficial impact on Studio performance.

When handling large files & projects, allowing Studio access to all of your system's memory would make a huge difference in time and performance, and for this the app needs to be 64-bit.

Are there any plans to release a 64-bit version in future?

  • From my very personal experience a good running program is good enough, regardless it being 32- or 64-bit. So I support , as it is much more important to have a reliable, good working Trados Studio instead of a Pandoras box in 64-bit.
I have a very powerful i9 11th generation PC with 64 GB RAM and Studio cannot utilize it. Still it works quite reliable here, so I still prefer this to a new version like Trados Studio 2009 with all its unreliability when it was launched.

  • I also always have a powerful computer with 64g GB of RAM, SSDs etc., otherwise I would not dare to complain of Studio. This is especially because I have a performing machine that I fond annoying that Studio sometimes stalls.
But Alison posted a good suggestion. I will try to disable some functions such as the Fragment search, which is not of a great interest for me...
