64-bit version of Studio

Please create a 64-bit version of Studio. At present only a 32-bit version is available, and therefore it can theoretically only access 2-3GB of system memory, meaning that upgrading your machine with more memory then this does not have any beneficial impact on Studio performance.

When handling large files & projects, allowing Studio access to all of your system's memory would make a huge difference in time and performance, and for this the app needs to be 64-bit.

Are there any plans to release a 64-bit version in future?

  • Meanwhile we could solve a major part of the performance problems we had with Studio 2017 when working on huge projects with numerous quick-merged files.  The solution was simple: Our SSDs had an own recycle bin and frequently copied files into them, leaving the originals unchanged.  Although the SSDs have 1 TB each, this resulted in high utilization rates of the SSDs - and, as SSDs react more sensible as other hard disks to high utilization (in some cases, only 150 GB were left), the performance of Studio slowed down. After deleting the recycle bin on the SSDs,  the problems decreased significantly despite Studio 2017 is a 32-bit version. This statement in opposite to my post dated June 1.
