CTRL + J to merge segments without selecting seg. numbers

Hi there,

Could CTRL J be added with some further automation to recognize seg. numbers when merging segments?

At the moment, "Merge" operation can only be used by clicking the seg. numbers Cursor hovering over segment numbers 8098 and 8099 in Trados Studio, indicating a selection for merging.

Could we make it "old school" and make that option available when right-clicking (or hitting CTRL +J) several segments just in target column? Trados Studio interface showing segment status icons, with one segment at 98% match and another at 100% match.

It would make Studio much more agile, since shortcut could be used. At the moment, shortcut is not pretty useful, since you still need to use mouse to make Merge know which segments are affected. Slight smile

  • Even when "Select next row" does the job, we still need to make a distinction between "selected text" and "selected rows" eventually, so I do think that adding some logic to text selection would be helpful to just press "shift" + up/down arrow and press CTRL + J, Studio being able to recognize seg. # information and perform "Merge" operation.

But thanks again, Jerzy. I was struggling with massive "merge" operations needed today and this really saved a lot of time. :)
