In Progress

This is in progress for next service release of Trados Studio 2024 to be released later this year, exact timing to be announced.

Font size for comments

Some of us have trouble to see very small font sizes, like comments. There should be a way to make it bigger.

Generally speaking, anything that could be done to make Trados visually comfortable would be nice.

Please note I use Trados 2021 and I have no intention of upgrading. I already did and had to roll back because of issues in the interaction between Trados and Multiterm. I would love a solution for comments that could be applied to all Trados versions.

  • Thanks   - this turned out to be a bit bigger change and required modernizing the underlying dialog box etc. so it won't be straightforward for us to bring this to 2021 or even 2021, unfortunately. Thanks, Daniel

  • Hi Daniel, I have  just seen you have now marked this issue In Progress, and that it will be sorted out in the next service release of Trados 2024... but then.. only T2024? Why not roll it back to T2021? Surely sight-impaired people deserve this in T2021 same as in T2024, right?

  • Hi Burim - this page might be a starting point: Getting started with cloud capabilities. Also the Project Management Quick Started guide shipped with Studio (see Help - Useful Tips) has a chapter on cloud ways of working. More generally speaking, this conversation here is very interesting for me to follow. We often refer to the new ways of working as 'hybrid' - i.e. you have the choice to work hybrid, using desktop or cloud where it makes most sense. And we need to keep optimizing both. Hopefully the comments dialog box will be part of optimizing the desktop Slight smile. Thanks, Daniel

  • Hi Paul,

you're pobably right about the cloud. At the moment, for us things are a bit like Jerzy's, because with all the cloud here and cloud there, we know a bit of everything but often not good enough to start. Especially we as service providers having to use different tools and clouds of our customers

Every time a new interesting-sounding webinar is announced, I look forward to learning something practical. In the end, it's often a lot of (too much) general information and you're no smarter than before, especially when you get caught up in the daily grind and carry on as usual.

Is there a possibility for RWS (or does it alreaey exist?) to create short video tutorials (3-minute videos) that offer really practical instructions on how to?

    Regards, Burim

Indeed, time is changing. However, not all new is better than the old. Some things develop and then disappear... Unfortunately, I must admit, that you are right with the movement to the cloud. At least currently. And most probably it is here to stay. But as long I can avoid it, I will certainly do.
