Option to disable auto-update of project template during project wizard in Studio 2019

We have noticed that when we use a specific template to set up a new project in Studio 2019, and we remove a target language, the TM for that language that was set in the template is automatically disconnected. Our customer service reps must then remember to connect this TM again - this could very easily be overlooked if a desired language pair is accidentally deleted. As a result, we would like the option to stop the project wizard from auto-updating, so that these TMs wouldn't be automatically disconnected. Since the language pair doesn't disappear on the TM window of the wizard, we are not sure why the TMs need to be automatically disconnected. Thanks!

  • I don't think this is an idea... it's either a bug or simply the way it works.  In my view this is how it works and is how it should work.  What happens if you purposely remove a language? Do you want the TM to still be connected?  It doesn't feel like an appropriate thing to do, to try and address an action that should not have been carried out in the first place with one that introduces more work when that action was done on purpose.

  • We reported this initially as a bug under our PSMA, and were told it was intended and we should make a suggestion if we didn't find the feature helpful. Unfortunately because of the way we work with templates featuring all possible language pairs, we often delete language pairs rather than adding them in. Having templates for all eventual language pairs for our customers wouldn't be practical.
