Trigger autopropagation but do NOT commit to TM

I am frequently in a situation where translated text contains a lot of very short segments, which I would classify as junk (for lack of a better word). Some examples of this would be various numbers containing short translatable text, acronyms, fragments of words, misspelled words or perhaps names of physical units. Generally I try to avoid cluttering my TMs with such junk entries. They cause a lot of problems later when you pre-translate and then have to correct a lot of segments which were not supposed to be pre-translated, but were replaced by these short junk entries.

I would like to have a shortcut available that would allow me to trigger autopropagation but not to commit the segment to translation memory. I would like to be able to make the decision on saving an entry in the TM or not. I hope such feature (shortcut) will be made available.

Thank you!

  • I am not sure why you rejected this idea, as this functionality is certainly NOT available. Maybe I was not clear enough. What I am talking about is the ability to make a decision whether to save entry in TM or not for every segment. This would be equivalent to going to project settings and ticking or unticking the "update" option for Translation Memory

I would like to have shortcut that would allow me NOT TO UPDATE the translation memory but still trigger Auto Propagation

  •  have you tried unchecking this already?

You can also set when you are prompted as well...
