In Tridion Docs 15, we have added "Version" as a mandatory (default) field in the properties dialog when you click on "New version". The changes field however remains a part of the optional fields as not all users would like to make it a mandatory field.

Display the "Version" and "Changes" fields by default in Draft Space

  1. Open a publication in Draft Space.
  2. Scroll to a document you want to update.
  3. Click "New version". The Properties dialog appears. You will notice that "Version" and "Changes" fields are not displayed by default. These fields are only displayed after turning on "Show optional fields" option. These fields should be displayed by default.
