Enable checking out and checking of topics in Draft Spaces

Because our authors cannot edit, copy, and paste the XML code in Draft Spaces, our authors need to continue the process of checking out, editing in Oxygen, and checking in. The process could be streamlined if checking in and checking out were possible in Draft Spaces.

  • Hi Scott. Thanks for the post. To explore the idea further, could you tell us a bit more about the scenarios where/when/why the authors need to move to Oxygen. One of the key aspects of Draftspace is to provide a fast and easy way to create DITA content for Content Manager without a need to be familiar with an XML editor. It is interesting for us to understand your perspective.

  • We can check out the objects from DraftSpace to edit and save the information. However, editing the XML code is not possible in the latest version. I am also interested to know what plans RWS has to resolve this common issue!.
