Just found that the xymacro "PN" may cause inconsistent result when compose the division by range. It is not alerted in the Xymacro manual.
For example: a division containing 6 pages. At the beginning of page 3, the <pn;4;1;1> inserted to change the page number on page 3 to "1" and the rest of the pages. If the "Compose Range for 2 pages" is executed on page 2, the page number of page 2 will be changed to "page 1" unintentionally.
Could anyone help to explain why it could happen.

That is happening because XPP will compose a bit of page 3 while it is trying to decide where to end page 2.
If your <pn;4;1> macro is sitting at the top of page 3, then it will get composed (and executed) during that action.
I think that this would not happen if you would have an hard coded <ep> in front of your <pn;4;1> macro.
And I also think that if you do a compose whole division, this problem does not occur (correct?)
