Thanks for quick response. Using display: inline is working for the first instance and not working for rest of the instances.

For example: <para>This is a dummy paragraph. <para type="run-in">This needs to be run-in</para> dummy text <para type="run-in">This needs to be run-in</para> dummy text <para type="run-in">This needs to be run-in</para> dummy text.</para>

I need to render the above input as one paragraph in the PDF:

This is a dummy paragraph. This needs to be run-in dummy text This needs to be run-in dummy text This needs to be run-in</para> dummy text.

 Can you please assist me to achieve it.

display: inline is allowing for the first instance and ignoring remaining instances coming in the same paragraph.

For example:

<para>This is my dummy paragraph <para type="inline">Ths is runin text</para> This is my dummy text <para type="inline">Ths is runin text</para> This is my dummy text <para type="inline">Ths is runin text</para> finally end of the paragraph.</para>

I need the output like:

This is my dummy paragraph Ths is runin text This is my dummy text Ths is runin text This is my dummy text Ths is runin text finally end of the paragraph.

Can you please assist me to achieve it.

You're getting multiple </para>s, which may be confusing things. Why not use <runin>...</runin> instead of <para type="inline">...</para>?

The following should work

para[type=inline] {
   display: inline;
}

para {
  display: block;
}

Since para[type=inline] is more specific than just para, it will overwrite the display property of the normal para. This is what CSS is all about. More than 1 rule can be at play and the more specific one overwrites the properties of the rules with a lower specificity (hence the Cascading in CSS)
