For the Preview, I don't know what to do. I tried a Word file, but the Preview was distorted.

For the translation memory, from the Translation Memories View, I found the folder "Upgrade Translation Memory" empty as per the attached screenshot.

Both problems are still pending and were not resolved.

However, not all of the two upgraded TMs were completely upgraded as per the attached screenshot. I, therefore, appreciate if you could advise if there were any other steps required to be taken in this regard.

For the Preview, the live Preview window is still not functioning. It only generates a separate target file in Word as per the attached screenshots.

Therefore, your help in this regard would be highly appreciated. In fact, this feature is exceedingly helpful in understanding the source file and speeding up my translation, when the live Preview window instantly updates as I proceed with the translation.

I look forward to your kind reply for my two queries.

I followed the instructions, but still my Live Preview does not work and the TM upgrade was not successful and generated the error illustrated in the attached screenshot.

I believe these are two big problems that I won't be able to resolve on my own and would highly appreciate Trados Studio online support to help me with them to be able to use my new purchase.

Hello Ana-Maria Matefi ,

I downloaded the suggested plug-in and have already repaired two TMs but couldn't upgrade the rest because the Upgrade button was grade-out as per attached screenshot. Then I got the following error message "Service SDL Desktop Platform Commandbars IAction Service' could not be started."

Now, Trados doesn't work altogether. I cannot start the tool.

I am afraid now the problem is even worse.

I need immediate help.

Thank you very much for the video. I watched it, but I am afraid there is a problem with my Preview in real-time. It had not been working for a long time and I thought this problem would be resolved when I upgrade to 2022. When I click the Preview, it generates a separate file in Word.

However, the real-time prefiew issue still presistes and I'd appreciate your kind help as to how to make it work again.

Thank you very much for your kind help. The provided link solved the error, and I was able to open & work in Trados again.

For the TM, it was all upgraded and repaired. After that a new error occurred, i.e. the automated MT stopped working, though it was working earlier. 

The real-time Preview was not working before the upgrade and is still not working as per the attached screenshot. When I try to generate the file Preview it produces a a separate file in Word.

So, now its the automated or AI supported machine translation and the real-time preview.

Further to the previous reply, I configured the NMT and it's working now. However, upon saving the file I got the following error messages.

My only request now is to help me make the real-time Preview work again. In fact, it stopped working some time ago before upgrading to Trados 2022 and I thought the Preview will work again when I upgrade.

Any suggestions how I can make the real-time Preview work again?

I am using Office 365 and my Platform is Windows 10. I found this link in the Knowledge section of RWS Support Gateway. I think this is relevant to my issue because the Realtime (Embedded) Preview is not Available. The article was last updated in December 2021, so I hope that there is a solution for this problem now.

Please try a Trados reset following these steps:

1. Close Studio.
2. Go to the following locations on your PC and rename the Plugins folder to Plugins_old.

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\17\

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\17\

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Trados\Trados Studio\17\

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Trados\Trados Studio\17\

3. Reopen Studio and check if it works.
