Can't install Multiterm what can I do ?

Hi everyone!

So I have SDL Trados on my computer. I had Multiterm but I had to uninstall it. Now I can't install it back on my computer. The error message is : Setup did not complete. The error is : Setup has detected a higher version of this product already installed. If you still wish to install this version, you must remove the other version first.

BUT, the other version has already been removed. What can I do ?

Thanks !!

  • Great... thank you.  I also think this article might be a better approach.  Apologies for the first one:

    For 2021 do this:

    1. Check that all the prerequisites are available on your computer and install any missing components:
NOTE: Open the Dependencies folder. By default this folder is available in: C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\SDL\Dependencies
      • Prerequisites for MultiTerm 2021:
        • 2019_vcredist_x86.exe
        • jre-8u111-windows-i586.exe
        • 2013_vcredist_x86.exe
        • 2008_SP1_vcredist_x86.exe
        • 2005_vcredist_x86.exe
        • 2010_vcredist_x86.exe
        • o2007PIA.msi
        • o2003PIA.msi
        • 2017_vcredist_x86.exe
        • OpenXMLSDKV25.msi
        • NDP452-KB2901907-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe
        • Microsoft WSE 2.0 SP3 Runtime.msi
    2. Install the main components of MultiTerm:
      • All separate installers are available in the Modules folder:
        • SDL MultiTerm Desktop 2021 (or higher): c:\ProgramData\Package Cache\SDL\SDLMultiTermDesktop2021SR1\Modules:
          • MTConvert16.msi (SDL MultiTerm Convert)
          • MTCore16.msi(SDL MultiTerm Core Components)
          • MTStudio16.msi (SDL MultiTerm Desktop)
          • MTWidget16.msi (SDL MultiTerm Widget)

After installing all prerequisites and the main components MultiTerm should work correctly on your computer.  If it doesn't let us know and we'll log a case so a support engineer can help you with this.
