Error with file vcredist_x86.exe that has been changed since it was initially published.

Hello, I get an error with file vcredist_x86.exe that has been changed since it was initially published while installing Trados Studio 15 on a PC upgraded from Windows 7 (where Trados Studio previously worked well) to Windows 10. I tried OK to download again, without success. The same message displays again. Can anyone help with this issue? Thank you.

Error message during Trados Studio 15 installation on Windows 10, stating 'Setup has detected that the file vcredist_x86.exe has changed since it was initially published.' with options to retry download or cancel.

  • Hello. Thank you for your reply. I checked all the files required and it seems I have them as indicated in the screen cap attached. What else can I do to solve this problem. Thank you!

  • Hello

Double click on all components one by one to make sure all of them are installed (ignore any error messages received) and then install the main components of Studio as mentioned at steps 2 from the article. If it still doesn`t work try the solution from the second article.

    Thank you,

  • Thank you. By clicking on them, I'm asked whether I want to install them. Is that what I should do? Thank you.

  • Hello

Yes, most probably one of them is not installed and causes this issue.

    Thank you,

  • I've installed all the files and the Trados setup progresses a bit more, but I still have the same error message. Attached is the setup log file located at 'C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\VSDBAFE.tmp\install.log' for more information. Thank you!

  • The latest VC++ downloads are all here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist

The last release of VC2005 is here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26347 I would download this one and run it to make sure as that is what it says has been modified since t was downloaded.

You can of course just run the TradosStudo.msi from the modules folder and see if it all works without any more dependencies.

  • Thank you so much David. This worked and Trados Studio 2015 was installed! I downloaded and ran the vcredist_x86 file. Thanks again!
