How did you manage to do this?  Trados 2007 is far too old, and we don't have any mechanisms in place to be able to manage licences for that version any more.  

Trados 2007, Trados Studio 2009, 2011 and 2014 and the third party licensing technology that supports these products are end of life and therefore end of support. The licensing technology has been decommissioned for these products which means that license activation, deactivation and license resets will no longer work on these versions.

OK, I  might have reset another one of my obsolete products. But the problem remains, although I have completely deinstalled and reinstalled the software, and run the activation and registration scripts. But when running the License Manager to activate online, I get the following message:

Could not contact activation server
(Error code 50041) 

Other programs in the suite, such as WinAlign and TagEditor, start, although the latter complains that Trados Workbench cannot be launched.

The only change I can think of since using Trados WB without problems might be a regular update of my Windows 11 system.

Any help or workaround would be appreciated.

So when you see this message when attempting to activate Trados WB it should not come as a surprise:

There is no possibility to activate the licence for that version any more.

Don't worry, I do understand English. The thing is that I am testing various ways of bringing back the application to life, since I've been using it up until last week (including moving it between computers) and it suddenly stopped working. Maybe activation or registering has nothing to do with it, but I'm eager to find a solution to the problem and I wanted to supply as much information as possible. Maybe this forum isn't the right place to look for answers.

(I can say that if Studio had had the same editing possibilities as Word, I would have dropped Trados Workbench. But I just upgraded to 2024, and I have failed to find the relevant features, just as in the 2021 version.)

This would definitely be a problem for you.  As soon as you move it you have to activate the licence and this is no longer possible.

Sounds as though you should take a look at Wordfast Classic.  If you don't want to work in an integrated CAT tool environment with the same layout for any filetype and only ever work on Word files and want to continue working within Word itself so you have all the editing capabilities that offers you, then Studio isn't for you.
