What version of Studio are you using? If it`s 2019 you can activate your license offline as described in this article: https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0039784
Normally, you can find your license in your RWS account - www.oos.sdl.com
Thank you,
Sorin
Hello Sorin, I tried to activate the license offline by reading your article - but I cannot find where is the Installation ID. I cannot get to the page described in the article to find the installation ID. Please help.
If you have Windows 11 try these steps:
In Windows search bar type "Device Manager" and open it and then go to: Network Adapters - Action - Add Legacy Hardware - Install the hardware that I manually select from a list - Network adapters - Choose a network adapter (Microsoft > Microsoft KM -Test).
Then try again offline activation.
Thank you,
Sorin
I need an Installation ID to do the activation. Where can I find it? Thank you.
At step 3 from the article I sent. If Studio closes before getting there and you have Windows 11 you need to follow the steps I sent earlier.
As for the site try oos.sdl.com , without www.
Thank you,
Sorin
Sorry for the multiple messages. I am very lost. I don't know where and how to find the Installation ID. Did you mean in your answer that I have to look for the Installation ID in Windows? It yes, I cannot follow the instructions you provided. I cannot find the first step "Network Adapters". If you could show me visually, it would help. Also my Windows is in French, so please provide the instruction in French as possible.
Hello, I was able to find the Installation ID as well as the Activation code and the Activation certificate. So I have all the information. When I log in Studio I am led to the "Activation en ligne" page. I am asked to enter the Activation code and then I get a message saying the the Activation has failed : "Impossible to connect to the activation server. Check the activation server in the supplier's parameters. The distant server has returned an error (403) Not allowed.
Please advise.

Hi Louise,
Your license appears in use - that's why probably you cannot activate the license.
Did you do a License Reset before trying to Activate it? When you need to install Trados on a different computer, if possible (meaning the old computer did not crush or died), you need to deactivate it first on the previous computer.
If you did not Reset the license before, please do that - in your RWS account - under Licenses - you have the Reset button next to the license code. Since you have a Freelance Plus license, you can activate it on two computers and currently both activations are In Use. So you need to reset at least one of them so you can activate Trados on the new computer.
Here is also a link with the steps and a video on how to reset the license:
