Hello,
After installing Trados Studio 2024 on a new Windows 11 computer, we are no longer able to access IATE (https://iate.europa.eu) on this machine — in any browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox).
Important observations:
- IATE works without issues on another computer on the same network
- The problem occurs only on the computer where Trados Studio 2024 was installed
- The issue affects all browsers, including fresh profiles and private windows
- No IATE plugin has been installed in Trados
- During Trados startup, we receive a popup stating that IATE could not be loaded
- The IATE web interface loads but remains dimmed and non-interactive, consistent with a blocked WebView / authentication layer
Troubleshooting already performed:
- Tested Chrome, Edge, and Firefox (including new profiles and private windows)
- Disabled antivirus and browser extensions
- Verified Windows proxy settings (no proxy configured)
- Verified system date/time and TLS settings
- Confirmed that the issue persists even when Trados is not running
- Confirmed that the issue started immediately after installing Trados Studio 2024
Based on this, we conclude that the issue is not browser-related, not network-related, and not account-related, but rather caused by a system-level component installed or modified by Trados Studio 2024 (most likely WebView2 / WinINET / TLS configuration).
We therefore request:
- Confirmation that this is a known issue with Trados Studio 2024
- Guidance on how to repair or reset the affected Trados-installed components
- Instructions for restoring full IATE web access without uninstalling the operating system
At present, Trados Studio 2024 effectively breaks access to IATE on this system, which is a critical resource in our translation workflow.
We look forward to your technical guidance.
