Analyses turn to n/a in Studio when interacting with GS

Hi,

The wordcount in the Files view in Studio turns to ”n/a” for all categories except Repetitions and Total, see screenshot. This happens when checking in files, and even when cancelling a checkout. The analysis function works as it should. It displays correctly in the Reports view and the XML files still contain the correct analysis, but it seems like the link to display the numbers in Studio does not work. And it's only for GroupShare projects, not for offline projects.

Has anyone experienced this problem? It started happening after the update that was released a couple of weeks ago, not the update that was released today, 2017-02-21, (at least I received today).

  • Some further investigation about this.

It is definitely introduced with the update to version 5.0.5821.0. I uninstalled Studio, re-installed, but did not apply the update. And now it works (at least so far). Verified on several different machines, all Windows 7.

    The following happens:

    1. Prepare and analyse the files as normal. The analysis is shown as normal in the Files view.
    2. Check in (or cancel a checkout), or interact with the GS server in some other way. The analysis turns to ”n/a” in the Files view. Reports and the XML files are OK. The numbers for the analysis in the SDLPROJ file, however, has turned to the figure ”0” for all match categories except Total and Repetitions. See screenshot.

    3. I have seen occurences of the attribute value for AnalysisStatus set to ”None” as well, but this behaviour does not seem to be consistent.
    4. Now to the strange part (if the above is not strange enough). Close the project in Studio (Remove from list), add the numbers for the analysis into the SDLPROJ file in a text editor and open the project in Studio again. The numbers are displayed correctly in the Files view, this is to be expected of course. So, check out and check in, and the numbers to ”n/a” in the Files view, this is also expected. But, when opening the SDLPROJ file in a text editor, the figures that I entered manually are still there for the analysis in the SDLPROJ file! How can ”n/a” be displayed, when the figures are in the SDLPROJ file?
    5. Remove from list > open the GS project on another computer, interact with GS (check out + cancel checkout), the numbers turn to ”n/a”, and the figures turn to ”0” in the SDLPROJ file again...

Maybe this should be reported as some sort of bug in an official way, ?
