GroupShare build 5111: Installation: Fatal Error: "valid Base-64 string"

Question

Hi, 
 I am using windows authentication to connect from APP to SQL, the password of service user which is used for this Integrated Authentication contains: Upper, Lower case, numbers and "@". 
 The error message says: "The input is not a valid Base-64 string as it contains a non-base 64 character, more than two padding characters, or an illegal character among the padding characters. " 
 I saw many errors during basically every single GS2017 installation but surprisingly not this one! 
 Are there any requirements for the password? Can the password be the root cause of this error? 
 It is GS 2017 build: 5111 and it is upgrade from GS2015

This could indeed by caused by the password. This has been logged as CRQ-8544 by our support teams, so we will fix it in a future update. 
 
In general we follow the recommendation by Microsoft to use Windows Authentication where possible: support.microsoft.com/.../recommendations-and-guidelines-on-configuring-the-authentication-mode
