Server not available even though service status is "running" (Groupshare 2015)

Hi all, 
 has anyone experienced this issue? 
 Groupshare server (2015) is not available even though application and execution services are "running". Problem is solved when restarting the services. 
 Why does the SDL Studio Groupshare console show a wrong status?

I think I've seen this problem when both the application and database VMs were restarted; the application server having been restarted slightly earlier and therefore returning to a running state before the database was online.

Trados GroupShare > 1. General
