Would GroupShare 2017 work with Studio 2022?

We have to upgrade Studio 2017 (or 2019 as we have free upgrades for this) to Studio 2022.

So practically two questions we have here:

1. Would GroupShare 2017 (not updated for a long time due to the absence SMA) work smoothly with Studio 2019?

2. Would GroupShare 2017 (not updated for a long time due to the absence SMA) work smoothly with Studio 2022?

Thanks

  • Hi ,

I tested on my side GroupShare 2017 SR1 CU11 (14.2.60653.11) along with Trados Studio 2022 (17.0.0.11594). During my testing I checked the following:

    - Open server project (check out / check in / cancel check out)

    - Confirm translated segments

    - Concordance search / TM lookup

    - Termbase search / Term recognition / Add new term

    - Publish project / Unpublish project

    - Create server TM / Open server TM / Edit translation units

    - Import / Export TM content

I can confirm that all the above worked as expected. The compatibility between GroupShare 2017 and Trados Studio 2022 is confirmed through the next article as well: https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=000001175

    I hope this helps.

  • One thing though we have GS 2017 SR1 CU8. As mentioned, our IT team was cautious not to update GS as we were lacking valid SMA. So in the case some issues appear after the update we were left without support. But since I use community I believe we would have obtained the expertise needed, provided we have the right people locally.
