Adding fields to existing Studio 2019 server-based memory

Hello, I currently joined a new organisation and I noticed the server-based memory fir Studio 2019 did not have many fields. I outlined how useful various fields can be in the memory. I tried adding new fields to the existing memory, but I see the message that there are several errors. Can fields be added to an existing memory, or would a new one have to be created? Or is my issue perhaps something else entirely?

Thanks

  • Hi

You can add fields to a server-based TM without problems.

but I see the message that there are several errors.

What error messages do you get? Please include a screenshot, so that we can see what went wrong.

  • Error message popup in Trados Studio saying 'At least one error has occurred' with an OK button and links to Knowledge Base Community.Trados Studio test settings screen showing options for recognizing dates, times, numbers, and units, with checkboxes for hyphenated and apostrophe-containing words.Hi Walter, Thanks for trying to help me. See attached image for the error message ( I admit, it is not overly helpful). I also attach an image of the test settings I tried to make.

I am not sure why I an unable to add fields in this case.

  • HI

To make the error message more helpful, click on the little icon with the red x and you will see more information, like this:
Error dialog box in Trados Studio showing 'One or more errors occurred' with details including 'System.AggregateException' and 'Response status code does not indicate success: 400 (Bad Request)'.

Check if you also see the text 'System.Aggregate.Exception'.
If yes, then you are probably victim of the problem described here:
    RWS Support (sdl.com)

I have been able to reproduce the problem here.

My suggestion is that you use the web interface of GroupShare instead of Studio to add these fields and if you still get this error message, you may have to open a support ticket.

An additional suggestion: try to use short fields names and if you have a field like the first one in your screenshot that should take the values Y or N, then change its type to 'Picklist' and add the two values 'Y' and 'N'.

    Good luck.

    Walter
