Repeated login requested to work with GroupShare Server

Hi,

At our company, we have recently upgraded to Trados Studio 22 as well as updated to SR1. Simultaneously, we had to change our GroupShare server address. Since then we have the problem that we (project managers) and our freelancers need to repeatedly login into our GroupShare server to be able to work with the translation memories stored on that server, even though the login credentials are asked to be saved.

Further more, it can happen that the port suddenly changes to port 80, even though we made sure to have saved the login with port 443. In other occasions, a second server address was automatically added (with the only difference being https instead of http or viceversa).

We don't know how to solve this problem, as it is very irritating for our freelancers especially. Might it have to do with "old" templates?

Thanks in advance for any help or inputs!

  • Hi  ,

If you are receiving prompts to sign in to the old server address, it is very likely that you have references to that URL in Project Templates, potentially in Translation Memories View (if you have any TMs open from the old server address), and in your projects.

If you have Project Templates uploaded to GroupShare, containing references to TMs or Termbases, with the old server URL, these need to be re-created using the new URL.
Before reuploading the Project Templates to GroupShare, it is highly advised to check the *.sdltpl file for any references to your old server URL, in a tool like Notepad++.

If the prompts are received for the same URL, with just the port being different (http vs https), then you have references to Resources (TMs and Termbases) added to your Projects / Project Templates which need to be aligned to use only a single URL.
