Checking in/out files across multiple languages?

Question

Is there a way to select a files from across multiple languages from the same project and check them both in and/or out with out having to go through each language one at a time? Thanks

Not right now, probably something like this would be feasible using the REST API in theory. 
 
Could you elaborate on the use case for doing this?
