Google Translate v2 API suddenly dysfunc with Passolo 2011

Hi Community, 
 
 until recently, we successfully used Google Translate v2 API with the Auto Translation Add-on in Passolo 2011 . 
 
 Since roughly a month, this functionality suddenfly seems to be dysfunc: 
 
 All 3 translation providers are grayed out, and the options cleared, including Google Translate v2 
 Manually editing AutoTranslation's settings.ini ("Permitted=Yes, Activated=Yes, NoThirdPartyPrompt=Yes) works, but only for a few API calls. Meaning: the whole mechanism still seems to actually work - we DO get translations in the editor window; But after a little while, Passolo seems to decide that it can't use the provider, and deactivates it.

Any gives? 
 Any ideas as to what we could try to make it work, again? We've already reinstalled Passolo 2011, without sucess. 
 Any ideas as to where we could look for a log or sth. similar to understand the nature of the issue?

SDL Passolo 2011 now wasn't updated for a long time and as it is in the end of life state you cannot expect any new fixes or updates. 
 I assume that there were some changes in the Google API that now lead to erroneous calls or answers that could not be interpreted by Passolo. These errors then lead into the fact that Passolo is switching off the connection.
