It looks as if Windows cannot get the IP of the host address. Check that you entered the URL correctly and in the correct field. It should look like this:

I have the exact same problem as Melanie, but the solution you suggest does not work as Trados crashes immediately after the splash screen. You can do nothing inside trados.

In addition, I'm almost 100% certain that I typed the URL correctly, I just copied and pasted it, but there's no way I can verify that.

I have tried repairing installation.

I have tried fully uninstalling and reinstalling again.

I have renamed the basics settings files.

None of the above have worked.

Any other ideas as to how solve this problem? I would assume that the URL is stored in some XML file, and maybe it can be reset with a file that makes no reference to the URL...

I can easily reproduce this error if there is a space at the end of the URL

I trust that once the space is removed you have a fix

Thank you, but how can I remove the space if I can't open Trados?

We resolved this issue by removing the trailing white space after the URL in the settings.json file which is located here (Windows 10):

C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL Community\AppStore Integration\Settings

The idea originally came from Paul F. See this thread: https://community.rws.com/product-groups/trados-portfolio/trados-studio/f/studio/42405/invalid-uri-the-hostname-could-not-be-parsed-leads-to-crash/138204 for details and a screenshot. At the time, Paul was sceptical that this would in fact resolve the issue. In our case it did .

This fixed the problem for me too. It was indeed a white space, but I couldn't get into the appstore settings from within Trados to delete it.

This is so annoying... I lost like 2 hours trying to fix Studio. Repair, Uninstall and Reinstalling wont fix it.... Thank you for providing this path!
